After 6 Years, Alberto Martinez Arrested and Charged in Chicago’s Cold Case – Suspected in Gage Park Killing

After more than six years of the cold case, and a fatal shooting that occurred in Chicago City Southwest side, Alberto Martinez, the primary suspect, has finally been arrested.

The Man Behind Chicago Cold Case

Alberto Martinez was the primary suspect in the Gage Park killing case where a 38-year-old male was killed, May 1, 2017. The authorities identified him and have undergone legal procedures.

It was confirmed according to FOX 32 that Alberto Martines was the man responsible for the unresolved Chicago cold case. He was arrested by the authorities and charged with a single felony count of first-degree murder last Wednesday.

So far, there is no further information regarding the case or any development since his arrest. Alberto Martines, the primary suspect of the Chicago cold case was scheduled on Friday to appear in court.

Further Incidences of Shooting Crimes in Chicago

As per the data released by the Chicago Police Department on Wednesday, the city has documented 79 homicides so far this year, concluding at the end of February.

This figure reflects a 14% decrease compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. However, it also indicates a 13% increase in the number of homicides recorded during the same period in 2021.
