Deadly Police Shooting happened at Alamogordo, New Mexico

Dominic De La O, a 26-year-old citizen of Alamogordo is now facing charges against Police Officer Anthony Ferguson.

Last Saturday, July 15, 2023, an inspection was conducted around 8 o’clock in the evening on a vehicle that has no headlight and tail light. The vehicle didn’t stop instead drove fast only to crash into a light pole. The driver runaway and the police officers began to chase him again, a lot of police officers were badly hurt including Officer Anthony Ferguson.

Police Officer Anthony Ferguson was sent to the closest hospital while other police officers are continuously chasing the suspect.

According to the authorities
De La O was wounded on his leg and was sent to the hospital for treatment later on was arrested with various charges including an attempt to commit first-degree murder and aggravated battery over a police officer using a deadly weapon.

District Attorney Scot Key announced that since De La O was arrested on a no-bond warrant and still has pending drug cases, he will stay in jail as it is. De La O was now held at Otero County Jail and would probably face more charges now that Police Officer Anthony Ferguson is dead.

In honor of the most trustworthy Police Officer Anthony Ferguson, the people of Alamogordo decided to make a procession from the hospital to his home as a sign of thank you and respect.
