Arizona Man Was Arrested For Killing His Father With Mom’s Help

On Monday, July 24, at 1:43 a.m., a structural fire at 200 North Brown Avenue, and Casa Grande Fire Department were called to the scene. As they arrived at the scene, they saw a person running from the property. The Casa Grande Fire personnel yelled at the subject to stop and return, but the subject continued to flee the area. Additionally, they saw human body inside the metal barrel, according to the Casa Grande Fire personnel.

The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested 32-year-old Christopher Chase in connection with a homicide investigation. He was arrested in the 200 block of North Morrison Avenue after he called 911 to turn himself in for killing his father, Thomas Chase, 57. Further investigation has determined Christopher was assisted by his 56-year-old mother, Melissa Chase, in hiding and cleaning up of evidence.

At their residence in the 1700 block of North Terrace Circle, Thomas and Christopher got into a physical fight on July 22. Which resulted in Christopher Chase shooting and killing his father. After the incident, Melissa Chase helped Christopher hide and clean up the evidence of his father’s murder.

Charges Against Christopher and Melissa Chase

Christopher and his mother, Melissa, were both booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center, according to Fox News report. They are each accused of abandonment/concealment of a dead body and tampering with evidence. Additional charges against Christopher Chase include kidnapping, aggravated assault, burglary, and murder.

The county medical examiner will ascertain the exact cause of death for Thomas Chase, according to the police, who indicate that the investigation is still on going. The charges and evidence of the son killing his father will be presented to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.
