As reported by NBC, a woman named Jennifer Hough, who has openly revealed her identity, filed a lawsuit on Friday, alleging that Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty attempted to pressure her into retracting her rape accusation. In an ongoing legal dispute centered around a 1994 rape incident, Jennifer Hough is aiming to revise her complaint against rapper Nicki Minaj and husband, as reported by All in Hip Hop.
Within the submitted legal document, Hough additionally alleges that the Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Pettyy engaged in actions such as “intimidation of witnesses, deliberate infliction of emotional suffering, negligent infliction of emotional suffering, persistent harassment, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.” At 38 years old, Minaj is facing allegations of communicating with the victim’s family and providing false information to her social media followers regarding the incident.
According to a lawsuit filed in a New York court, Minaj allegedly tried to pay the accuser $500,000 to retract her story. The woman refused both the money and Minaj’s offer to help write a statement taking back the rape allegation. What is the 1994 rape incident all about of?
On September 16, 1994, Hough and Petty, who were both 16 and lived in Jamaica, Queens, New York, met. While she was walking to school, he attacked her. He then threatened her with a knife, forced her into a nearby house, and raped her there. After what happened, he was caught and charged with rape in the first degree. He eventually accepted that he had tried to rape a woman and was given a prison sentence of 18 to 54 months.
Hough aims to strengthen her argument against Petty by revising her complaint and presenting fresh evidence. She believes that the evidence from the Queens District Attorney’s Office concerning the 1994 incident backs up her claims. Hough’s evidence includes unsettling items like images of the alleged assault location, the knife supposedly used, bruises on her side, and pictures of her neck where choking occurred. Legal documents show Petty’s arrest and admission of guilt, along with social media posts linked to him. Despite Minaj’s exit from the case, the legal battle between Hough and Petty continues, with the court examining the unexpected old evidence.
