Is Eddie Irizarry’s Death was caused by a Language Barrier?

The family thinks a language barrier was probably to blame for the dangerous misinterpretation that resulted to Eddie Irizarry’s death. Spanish was Irizarry’s native tongue. According to CNN, the policeman who shot and resulted to Eddie Irizarry’s death has been placed on restricted leave pending a thorough investigation.

Before the Eddie Irizarry’s death happened, the two police officers approached Irizarry’s car from opposite sides, according to the most recent account of what happened. When Irizarry turned to face the second police after the first officer said he had a weapon, the second cop opened fire multiple times which resulted to Eddie Irizarry’s death. The cause of Eddie Irizarry’s death is still under investigation.

The Family Seeks Justice for Eddie Irizarry’s Death

Irizarry’s aunt Zoraida Garcia, expressed the frustration of the family because of Eddie Irizarry’s death in a Friday interview with CNN. Garcia stated, They murdered my nephew. There’s a lot of hatred, but there’s also a lot of pain. Garcia said to CNN that if you break the law, you should be punished. Outlaw previously reported that there were two knives inside the car, but was unable to clarify whether Irizarry was in possession of them or whether the cop had given a warning before firing into the vehicle. Garcia claimed that her nephew enjoyed working on cars and thought the knives might have been intended tools for working in cars. According to his aunt, Eddie Irizarry’s family intends to sue the Philadelphia Police Department for Eddie Irizarry’s death.
