The two-time NCAA wrestling runner-up for Ohio State University, Sammy Sasso Ohio state wrestler is still in the state of recovery after getting involved in a robbery and being shot last Friday night. The shooting happened according to the authorities shortly before 8:30 p.m., in a robbery attempt at 1300 block of North High Street.
Sammy Sasso Ohio state wrestler was immediately taken to the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus in which it is said that Sammy Sasso Ohio state wrestler was under a serious condition. Sammy Sasso Ohio State wrestler was being monitored at WMC. The OSU wrestling coach Tom Ryan gave a statement on an early Saturday afternoon that says, the coaching staff and members of the wrestling program and the Athletics Administrators are grateful to the people of WMC that took care of Sammy Sasso Ohio State wrestler and stating that thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening.
The said shooting incident was reported to be linked with a robbery attempt. The incident was still under investigation with few details available about the incident. Currently no suspect has been arrested.

According to Fox News Sammy Sasso was a native from Nazareth, Pennsylvania, was fifth year student in Ohio State University, winning his Big Ten title for the second time at 149 pounds. He have a record of 29-4 on the past year, with 8-0 during the conference. Sasso also placed second last 2020, and 2022 and won in the year 2021.  Sasso also qualified for the NCAA four-time and have 12-4 for his career in the tournament and lost to Cornell’s Yianni Diakomihalis at 149-pound during final.
There has been a lot of support coming from the social media from the students in Ohio state and the wrestling community members. All of them are wishing for Sasso’s fast recovery from the shooting incident.
