Social Media Influencer’s Criminal Cases
Russell Brand, a British comedian, and a social media influencer, has been accused of assault and abuse by four women who knew him during the peak of his fame. A woman claiming to have been raped by the social media influencer and three others accusing him of assault.
The allegations were denied and the social media influencer stated that all his relationships were consensual. The social media influencer’s increased prominence was a reason for the women to come forward.
A video was posted by the social media influencer where he denied the allegations and suggested that they were part of a coordinated attack to discredit him because of his views.
According to a published article by CBS News, the social media influencer was recognized for his comedy and controversial persona, Brand gained fame in Britain before transitioning to Hollywood and marrying singer Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012.
The Social Media Influencer’s Behavior
In a published article by BBC, the investigation also uncovers allegations suggesting that the social media influencer has been involved in controlling, abusive, and predatory behavior.
Also, Brand had different popular jobs during the period when the allegations were made. He worked at BBC Radio 2, Channel 4, and even acted in Hollywood movies.
