Residents Return to Honouliuli Neighborhood as Recovery Efforts Continue After Wildfire

A sign of improvement in the wildfire recovery process is the return of residents to the Honouliuli neighbourhood. But there is still a lot of work to be done.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the fire department. They are also attempting to determine the extent of the fire’s devastation to neighbouring Lahaina neighbourhoods.

The neighbourhood is banding together to aid with the recovery process. Debris cleanup and home repairs are being done by volunteers. To assist residents with their expenses, donations are being gathered.

Werner stated, “We appreciate the community’s support. “We are confident that we can overcome this together.”

The fact that people are returning to their houses is encouraging for Lahaina’s future. The neighbourhood is resilient and committed to redevelopment.
