Authorities said Monday that a Mississippi woman who had previously been imprisoned for crashing weddings and stealing gifts was detained last week in her home state for doing it again.
Sandra Lynn Henson, 56, was wanted in Alabama and was apprehended last Saturday at a wedding she was allegedly not invited to. She has been charged with petit larceny, trespassing, and disturbing the peace, according to the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department.
“Apparently Miss Henson has been arrested in Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi for crashing weddings and stealing money and cards from purses,” the sheriff’s department said in a social media post.
According to AL.com, Henson has a habit of ruining weddings.
She was charged with crashing two weddings in Alabama in 2019. According to the news report, witnesses spotted Henson at weddings in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee helping herself to gift envelopes and money from purses inside the changing rooms.
According to local media, she later handed herself into authorities, although the outcome of the case was not immediately known.
In 2021, a Memphis television news programme referred to Henson as the “Mid-South wedding crasher.” According to ABC 24, she was convicted of theft and her probation was terminated.
Henson was supposed to be released in 2025 under the terms of his sentence. It was unclear when she was released or why.
