After meeting online, a Delaware man is accused of kidnapping an 11-year-old girl from Passaic County.
According to authorities, Darius Matylewich, 27, met the victim while playing Roblox, a famous online gaming platform.
On September 10, police in Wayne, New Jersey were called about 6:45 a.m. for a report of a missing child. She was discovered not long after.
Matylewich was found to have met the youngster and transferred her 135 miles from Wayne to Bear, Delaware without her parents’ knowledge.
The manner in which the girl was stolen from her family has not been disclosed by authorities.
Every day, more than 54 million people play Roblox, with roughly half of them being under the age of 13. According to a statement issued to ABC News, the corporation “has reached out to law enforcement and is offering our assistance.”
The statement went on to explain that the gaming platform works hard to keep grooming at bay.
