According to Vermont State Police, autopsies have confirmed that the two remains discovered in a wooded area off a rural road in northern Vermont are those of two missing Massachusetts men who were shot to death.
On Wednesday, police discovered the deaths of Jahim Solomon, 21, of Pittsfield, and Eric White, 21, of Chicopee in a wooded area near Eden. According to authorities, autopsies done on Thursday revealed that Solomon died from several gunshot wounds to the head and White died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
State police said they are still following up on leads in the case and that public tips are a vital component of the inquiry. According to Maj. Dan Trudeau, commander of the Vermont State Police’s criminal division, a number of suspects and persons of interest have been identified.
State police said Saturday that Solomon and White vanished under “suspicious circumstances” while travelling through numerous localities. Authorities say they went missing on Oct. 15 after losing contact with their relatives for several days. Officials said they had previously visited Burlington, Lowell, Morrisville, and Stowe.
