According to authorities, a guy from Georgia has been taken into custody in relation to the passing of the great-nephew of jazz pianist and singer Nat King Cole.
On September 14, Tracy Cole was fatally murdered in Atlanta. At the hospital, the 31-year-old passed away. Ricardo Gayle, 41, has been charged by investigators with his murder. On Saturday, he was arrested during a traffic stop.
According to WSB-TV, the men knew one another, according to the police.
Gayle was charged with multiple criminal offences, including murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery when she was brought into the Fulton County Jail.
Freddy Cole, one of the three brothers of Nat King Cole, was the grandson of Tracy Cole. The iconic jazz musician passed away in 1965. Another well-known jazz pianist and singer who was admitted into the Georgia Hall of Fame was Freddy Cole.
Upon contacting the Atlanta Office of the Public Defender on Sunday, no one picked up, and it was unclear right away if Gayle had hired a private attorney. A family member was contacted but could not be reached for a potential statement on Gayle’s behalf, and her counsel was not listed in the jail records.
