A woman and her 16-year-old daughter were shot after entering their front door in West Philadelphia.
The shootings occurred at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the 5700 block of Spruce Street.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, a man approached the door and asked for a certain person. After being told that the person he was looking for didn’t live there, he opened fire.
According to Small, the perpetrator fired five shots from the pavement, striking the entryway as well as both victims.
The woman was shot in the hip, and her daughter was shot in the leg. Both were sent to a local hospital in stable condition.
According to police, the man fled on a bicycle but was subsequently apprehended. At this point, he has not been identified.
