A Michigan lady was taken into custody after trying to escape the law last week, according to the police, she left a puppy in a construction skip and caused a collision.
Selena Maria Martin, 25, was detained on November 8 after speeding, driving on a suspended licence, failing to stop for police smashing her car and running away, according to a statement from the Farmington Hills Police Department.
Based on documents obtained by Fox 2 Detroit, Martin has been found guilty of escaping and eluding police in two previous instances, most recently on August 5, 2021, and September 10, 2021.
Officers said that after being arrested along with a 14-year-old passenger, Martin informed them they had abandoned a puppy in a construction skip because it was “slowing their escape.”
After starting their search, the police reported that they had securely and successfully recovered the dog, which was unhurt.
The puppy was later adopted by a community member, according to officials.
According to the officers, nobody was hurt in the car that the suspects struck.
There was no quick response from the Farmington Hills Police Department.
