A lady has put a Houston-area nail salon in hot water after claiming that the owner kept her and her 4-year-old kid inside the establishment for over half an hour after the customer questioned her charge.
The woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, reportedly went in on Sunday for a standard pedicure, which cost $55, according to FOX 26 Houston.
The woman said that she was billed $110 for other extras, such as a $15 credit card fee and a $10 water bottle for her kid.
The owner allegedly kept the mother and her son inside the salon when she contacted the police, even though the woman had just offered to pay $55.
The lady claimed the salon owner informed her she owed $335, including a $200 fee for phoning police when a sheriff’s deputy arrived at the salon.
According to FOX 26 Houston, there have also been three prior allegations against the Friendswood-based nail business.
A recent client of Epic Nails, also known as Helen’s Nails, situated at 2110 El Dorado Blvd., told FOX 26 she had to contact the police to get out of there. She claims that once she called, the proprietor also attempted to bill her $200 for contacting the police.
Another client, a single mother, came forward in April 2022 and said she was charged about $700 to have her toenails painted.
After one client left a negative review of the nail shop on social media, another one came forward in July, claiming the owner of the salon had threatened to sue her.
