Raleigh Rabbi Engages in DC Rally Amid Pro-Palestinian Supporters’ Rally at Home

Hundreds of people returned to the Triangle Tuesday night after attending a massive pro-Israel event in Washington.

Tens of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall under strong security to express their support for the struggle against Hamas.

“There are buses from every corner of the country–from Ohio to New York,” said Lucy Dinner, rabbi of Raleigh’s Temple Beth Or.

She and others boarded buses for Washington early Tuesday morning.

“We’ve got to bring this up with the people to help them understand that this is for democracy everywhere,” she added.

Councilmember Christina Jones stated that they have requested the city attorney to send back text for a ceasefire resolution at the next meeting.

“I ask that this council not be silent and be the change that this community wants to see,” said Omar Nebulsi, who served in the Army. “North Carolina has always had this diverse community and that’s one of the many things I’ve loved about living here. We are your friends, your neighbors, doctors, engineers, and service members.”

Demonstrators in Washington demanded that Congress pay more funds to Israel.

“We want to see what’s happening and see it quickly,” she went on to say.
