During a raid on a California woman’s home, over fifty stolen luxury purses were found; the LAPD is now working to return the high-end handbags to their rightful owners.
A “significant amount of cash” and a cache of designer purses from Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and other brands were found in 51-year-old Karla Sunceri’s Mission Hills house at around six in the morning on November 1, according to the LAPD Major Theft Task Force.
When investigating officers determined that Sunceri was a “luxury handbag ‘fence,'” they were able to get a warrant for the McKeever Street property.
According to an announcement from the task force on Tuesday, the handbags are thought to have been taken from their owners in a series of house burglaries that occurred throughout Southern California.
The agency stated that Sunceri was charged with receiving stolen property and was later released from Van Nuys Jail without posting bail. It’s unknown if any of her co-conspirators have been identified.
