N.Y. Man Fatally Hit by Passing Car After Trying to Stop Car Break-In

In Queens, New York a man was killed after trying to prevent theft from his car according to police reports.

The authorities came to know about the incident when someone made an emergency call and reported that a man was hit by a car near 85th Street and 25th Avenue in East Elmhurst around 3:30 p.m.

The man spotted at the scene was of age 43 and found at intersection when he spotted, the two suspects were breaking into his white Toyota Highlander to steal an item placed inside the car.

On the day of the incident, the person who witnessed it heard the car glass shatter and then he informed the car owner about it. When the victim responded and started approaching towards the suspects and his car, the suspects ran away from the car.The suspects were leaving in BMW car, after seeing that the victim started running towards the car and climbed onto the side of the car. The victim was then thrown away from the car by suspects and he got struck by a passing Cadillac Escalade.

The owner of the Cadillac Escalade, Hugo Dutan, told PIX 11 that the victim went flying against his car and his head got hit by the front wheel on the right side of the car. The victim then started bleeding and then taken to the Elmhurst Hospital where he was declared to be dead.

Footage video have recorded the whole incident along with the BMW speeding away and victim was rushing towards him. Along with victim, a man named Kevin Gonzalez who was playing football at that time also tried to catch the suspects.

Police department not made any arrest d ue to ongoing investigation and search of the suspects.

A spokesperson for the NYDP 115th Precinct did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional information on Wednesday.
