Huntsville police have arrested four people in connection with the death of 15-year-old Ja’Marious Logan, who had been missing for 51 days.
A body was found on a Sylacauga property on Thursday, and police believe it is Logan’s. The body has been sent to the state forensics lab in Montgomery for an autopsy.
The four suspects have been identified as 33-year-old Latorrie Gaddis, 37-year-old Latoya Wells, 33-year-old Corie Wilson, and 34-year-old Deserea Pilar Cunningham.
Gaddis is facing capital murder and kidnapping charges for Ja’Marious’ death. He was already being sought by Huntsville police on two unrelated second-degree assault warrants.
Wells and Wilson are charged with kidnapping in connection with their alleged involvement in Logan’s disappearance. Cunningham is charged with hindering prosecution. Police say the suspects and Ja’Marious were acquaintances.
“We are still piecing together the details of this case, but we believe that Ja’Marious’ death was a homicide,” said Sgt. Jack Pugh. Ja’Marious was last seen in the late hours of Sept. 25. He was reported missing on Sept. 27. Police followed leads that led them to the Sylacauga property where the body was found. Investigators are still determining exactly when and where Ja’Marious died. Police are asking anyone with information about Ja’Marious’ death to come forward. “We are urging anyone who has any information about Ja’Marious’ death to please contact us,” said Pugh. “No tip is too small.“
