Wildfire Scorches 30 Acres of Palm Trees North of Indio with No Threat to Homes

After scorching through 30 to 40 acres of palm trees in state parkland north of Indio on Sunday night, a wildfire was still raging, according to Cal Fire.

Although the fire was in a “difficult to access area,” no houses were thought to be in jeopardy.

According to a map that Cal Fire posted on social media, the fire was located in the Biskra Palms region, a few miles north of Interstate 10.

Firefighters intended to spend the entire night on the scene.
