A 34-Year-Old Florida Woman Charged With Brutally Robbing 73-Year-Old Date: Here's Everything You Need To Know

The 73-year-old man’s injuries required treatment at a nearby hospital, and Chelsea Wright, 34, and Andrew Marks, 33, were involved in a violent robbery scheme, according to a news statement from the Volusia County Sheriff’s office.

According to police, on Thursday, February 29, at approximately five in the morning, the elderly victim came at a nearby hospital and related a scandalous episode involving his interactions with Wright and Marks.

According to authorities, the 73-year-old informed hospital staff that he was going on a romantic date with Wright to talk about their relationship at a Daytona Beach pub.

Wright recommended that the woman return to her home, and the victim accepted, according to the police.

The 73-year-old followed Wright to her Ormond Beach, Florida, home in Plantation Pines. According to the authorities, she picked up Marks along there and dropped him off close to a house.

At Wright’s purported residence, the man got out of his car, and Marks abruptly emerged and is said to have struck him in the head with a metal weapon.

According to the police, he struck him repeatedly until he collapsed.

After robbing the victim of his wallet, Wright and Marks left the area.

The victim was treated for several injuries to his head, limbs, and chest at the hospital. His eye was swollen shut, and he had severe head lacerations that required staples.

Police watched Wright after the victim’s date went sour, and when they pulled her up for a traffic violation, they discovered drugs in her vehicle.

She told a falsehood to authorities during an interview, claiming the attacker was an old Alzheimer’s patient she had picked up from the side of the road.

Investigators later found text exchanges between Marks and Wright, indicating that they had dated in the past and had plotted the crime together.

Marks was apprehended early on Friday morning in Holly Hill on suspicion of aggravated violence against a victim over 65 and robbery with a weapon.

According to authorities, Wright was detained as principal on the same charges.
