Cision reports that Instacart has expanded its online SNAP acceptance to over 120 retail banners encompassing a network of over 10,000 stores, a larger coverage than any other online grocery platform. Instacart introduced online SNAP functionality in 2020, collaborating closely with USDA FNS to lead the way in implementing the retail onboarding procedure and extending the reach of online SNAP payments nationwide. In 2022, Instacart pledged to enhance access to healthy food for everyone, citing that 33.8 million individuals reside in households with constrained food availability, which includes 5 million children.

Instacart stands alone as the sole grocery marketplace that embraces SNAP payments in all states, enabling recipients, usually low-income families with limited means to buy items from over 10,000 stores by seamlessly linking their EBT balances.

Instacart’s mission is to create a world where every person can access wholesome choices, obtain the food they crave, and share it with others.
