Miami-Dade Police Arrest Tenant After Fatal Stabbing of Homestead Landlord

Authorities reported Tuesday that a man was detained after allegedly fatally stabbing his landlord after an argument between the two on Monday afternoon.

Eduardo Darinel Galvez, 22, is charged in connection with the homicide, which occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 100 block of SW 7th Street.

Galvez was momentarily hospitalised when authorities used a stun gun on him while attempting to arrest him.

Following the incident Monday afternoon, the victim, who was not immediately recognised, died at a local hospital.

A man who did not want to be recognised and claimed to be the tenant’s buddy said he and his friend discussed before the cops came.

“I said, ‘Are you alright?” said the man. “(The renter) said they’re on their way to grab me. They’re going to remove me.”

Galvez was greeted by cops who came at the property after he locked himself inside his flat.

According to a Miami-Dade Police spokeswoman, the Homestead police tactical squad eventually entered the location and discovered a male with stab wounds laying on the floor.
