Nevadans on the Run to Find New Health Insurance Before Fall

Over 2,800 Nevadans will need to find a new insurer once the troubled health insurance provider Friday Health Plans of Nevada is liquidated in September.

A news release from the state Division of Insurance, Friday Health Plans of Nevada’s assets will be sold on September 1 and Individuals currently covered by the firm will need to locate a new health insurer on or by August 31 to prevent a coverage gap. For individuals affected, there will be a special enrolment time to enroll in Nevada Health Link Insurance. Nevada Health Link is managed by the state agency the silver state health insurance exchange.

An agency said,  Nevada Health Link collaborates with six insurance companies to provide approximately 100 different eligible health plan alternatives on NevadaHealthLink.com. People without health insurance via their jobs can purchase insurance plans through Friday Health Plans, a Colorado-based company.

According to the information gathered from the Company’s level capital,

Nevada Insurance Commissioner Scott Kipper provided the Las Vegas Review-Journal the information about “inconsistent financial filings” that took place for over six to nine months from the hands of Friday Health Plans of Nevada but right now, Division of Insurance took over the management.

According to the statement from the Friday Health Plans website, the firm has no problem with the steps taken since it cannot keep up with the financial infrastructure that it needed for expansion.
