Off-Duty Adamsville Police Officer Arrested for Public Intoxication and Trespassing

An Adamsville police officer, Joey Darty, 41, has been arrested for public intoxication and third-degree criminal trespassing following an incident in Jasper early Sunday morning.

Darty’s arrest occurred at 2:28 a.m. at a residence on Birmingham Avenue in Jasper. He was released from the Jasper City Jail later that day at 7:23 p.m.

Adamsville Police Chief Chris Robinson confirmed that Darty has been placed on paid administrative leave pending a hearing. The chief also stated that Darty was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Darty previously served as a sergeant with the Jasper Police Department.

Efforts to obtain Darty’s mugshot have been unsuccessful.

The details of the incident leading to Darty’s arrest have not yet been released by Jasper police.
