Reporters Planned to Follow Every Lead of Improper Behavior Complaints of Reporter Deb Gruver

Reporters were going to chase every trail once they learned about story especially one meaty and complex as the Marion raid. They would quickly learn if Cody had ever been the subject of improper behavior complaints. The Kansas City Star claimed on August 16 that the police chief had quit the department and was in trouble before a newspaper raid in Kansas. The Record then provided its own thorough coverage. This self righteous central cast makes the drama seem unlikely to fizzle out anytime soon. Instead smoldering embers will start many little fires and journalists from local and national news organizations will assiduously cover each one. This is how the news operates. This has always been the way that news has operated though. Following behind the Reflector will make an effort to tell sparks from flames.
