Suspect charged for alleged kidnapping, sexual assault of a woman at gunpoint in Normandy Park

According to Normandy Park Police, a man who was held in King County Jail for being accused for allegedly kidnapping a random woman at gunpoint and forced her to perform sex acts. This man is now held on bail of $925,000.

This incident took place on October 23, around 6 p.m. when a woman was walking her dog near 1600 SW 170th Street. According to her boyfriend, she was out for about an hour leaving her phone at home. After being gone for more than hour, her boyfriend called 911.

As the report says, a man asked her about the directions and when she went to help him, he pointed a gun at her and scared her to get into the car. He continued to hold the gun to her head as he drove to a short distance away and parked. There he sexually assaulted her.

Then the woman fake panic attack to escape. Somehow she ran off and hid in the bushed along with her dog until the suspect’s vehicle left.

She was then helped by a neighbor who called 911 and then she was taken to hospital where investigators get the suspect’s DNA off to the woman and identified him as Dedrick Mitchell.

In January, Mitchell was arrested and interviewed by police and then got charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree rape.
