The U.S. Marshals Service detained 25-year-old Jean Pierre Ojeda Salazar, according to the Tampa Police Department and Fox Tampa. One day after the double homicide, he was discovered in Maryland, according to the police.

When police arrived at the 14000 block of Riveredge Drive on Sunday, they discovered a 14-year-old girl who had been stabbed several times. TPD authorities say they also discovered the second victim, a 35-year-old woman, who had comparable injuries.

The youngster was rushed to a hospital where she eventually passed away, and the woman was declared dead on the spot.

Following a dispute with the woman, Salazar stabbed both victims, according to the police. He drove a sedan that was subsequently discovered to be abandoned out of the apartment building where the fatalities took place, according to the authorities.

Suspicion of several counts, including first- and second-degree murder, led to his arrest.

Salazar is awaiting extradition to Tampa after being transported to the Maryland County Correctional Facility.
