The only state-run mental health facility in the Granite State, New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, has about 185 beds. When word of a shooting broke out, state police were called. Reports of “multiple victims” were received.

The incident occurred at the hospital, according to a post made by the police on X. Later, the state’s Department of Safety, Homeland Security, and Emergency Management announced the death of the accused shooter.

The hospital campus has been vacated, according to Gov. Chris Sununu’s social media post, although police later declared there was no public threat.

The complex is close to Concord High School, a number of state offices, and a district courthouse in Concord, the state capital. Additionally, it is situated on a sizable campus spanning more than 100 acres.

In a statement, Democratic U.S. Representative Annie Kuster described the shooting as “horrifying” and urged people to stay away from the hospital’s vicinity while authorities looked into the event.

“Thank you to the State Police Officers who responded to the scene so quickly,” Kuster said in a statement. “My thoughts are with the victim, their family, and the Concord community.”

Additional congressional representatives from the state also issued comments endorsing them.

“The state immediately mobilized, and first responders and law enforcement are on the scene,” Sununu said in a statement. “We will provide as many details as possible as this situation unfolds.”

The shooting is a U.S. hospital’s most recent act of violence. Health care has become one of the most violent industries in the country, and medical centres around the country are still finding it difficult to respond to the increasing threats.

Numerous law enforcement organisations attended to the shooting incident.
