Woman Threw Coffee at a Dad and Toddler and Allegedly Called Them Terrorists, Triggering Hate Crime Investigation

The NYDP requires public’s help to identify a woman who is accused to throw her cellphone and a cup of coffee on a Brooklyn dad and his 18-month-old son on November 7,2023 at 12:30 in Edmonds Playground and also asked them if they were a “terrorists”. The victim is 40-year-old whose name came to be known as Ashish Prashar. At the time of the incident the man was wearing a black-white Palestinian scarf which is known as a keffiyeh and that time he filmed everything and posted on social media asking for help from the investigators to find that woman.In the video he was saying that he is the one who was wearing scarf and was getting attacked because he was a terrorist and in the video an unseen witness overheard saying that, “I’m sorry that happened to you”. The playground was surrounded by two schools but nobody witnessed the incident.

The female made anti-islamic statements when Ashish approached her and she is described as a female with a light complexion and small build. The last time when she was seen, she was wearing a black-white basketball hat, black sunglasses, gray scarf, black zip-up jacket, black fanny pack, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Prashar requested the people to not to spread hatred or violence by themselves just by seeing this video instead let the NYDP do their job and do their investigations.

As the New York Times report says that hate crimes are on the rise in the city having a 200% rise in anti-semitic crimes since the Hamas-Israel war broke out. In the last month approximately 101 bias incidents happened out of which 69 of them were directed at the Jewish community.

A local Brooklyn parent told that they are very sad because of these crimes and it does not create a peaceful environment for their kids. But they also said that despite of all these hatred they would never stop to teach their child how to love one another.
